I’m Tina Miller, the maker and founder behind Birch & Water. The name Birch & Water was inspired by the landscape that surrounds Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland.  The beautiful birch trees that grow throughout our forests and the water that surrounds our island from every direction. 

For years, I struggled with store-bought products that had overpowering scents or would leave my skin irritated.  Many products left me with either rashes, headaches or it would even trigger my asthma-the fragrances were simply too strong for me.

Eventually, I realized that I was probably not the only one experiencing this-and that is when I decided to start my business Birch & Water. 

My love for bath and beauty products started early. As a little girl, I was constantly sneaking off to check out what people had in their makeup bags or showers—I was totally fascinated. But truthfully, my family couldn’t always afford those kinds of “extras,” so they always felt like a luxury to me. That made me love them even more.

Fast forward to now – I’m still that same girl at heart, but I’ve turned that lifelong obsession into something meaningful through Birch & Water. I work full time, run this small business on the side, and pour a lot of heart and energy into every product I make. It’s not always easy balancing it all, but it’s been very rewarding.

Outside of work and business, I’m a proud mom to my basketball-loving son, wife to the most supportive husband, and dog mom to our beautiful golden retriever. I’m a homebody at heart who loves a good workout, craves spicy food (especially Mexican—yes please), and never say no to a cozy cabin weekend to unwind.
